Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has admitted that he was left frustrated by his side's goalless draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Chelsea.
Neither side could break the deadlock at the Vicente Calderon last night, but Simeone has claimed that his team were the only ones interested in forcing the issue.
"It was a classic game of the Champions League semi-final. Each team had its purpose - ours was to score a goal," Simeone told Marca.
"They defended very well. It leaves open the knockout round. Now we play in their stadium, with their people and surely they'll feel good.
"We looked for alternatives to score a goal and ended up with Gabi and Koke in the middle, Jose Sosa on the right, Raul Garcia on the left, Arda Turan... The intention was to play the game. Our opponent defended well."
The second leg will take place in London next week.
