Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has revealed that he was desperate to complete his hat-trick against Schalke in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Spain international found the target twice at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, while Eden Hazard scored the third and final goal to lead the Blues to a 3-0 win in Group E.
"The competition for the striker position is very, very healthy and we have three very good strikers," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "But we have many games so we all need to be ready.
"I was screaming for [the third goal] but I'm happy for Eden who is doing great. We need to keep him in a good mood.
"We have a young squad, new manager and new players. Teams take time to settle but we're improving."
Chelsea are currently at the top of the group with six points from three matches.
