Chelsea won for just the second time in their last nine outings this evening as Willian's late free kick handed them a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League.
Kiev defender Aleksandar Dragovic netted at both ends to send the two sides into the final 10 minutes locked at one apiece, but Willian's winner was ultimately enough to lift Chelsea into the top two in Group G.
Here, Sports Mole looks at who stood out on a dramatic evening at Stamford Bridge.
CHELSEA
Goal
Asmir Begovic: Had very little to deal with in terms of shots, making just one save all night. Came off his line quickly to good effect on a couple of occasions, but got nowhere near the corner that led to the equalising goal - an error that could have easily proved costly. (5/10)
Defence
Cesar Azpilicueta: Switched over to the right side of defence but seems to be just as solid wherever he plays. As usual nothing spectacular, just a good, reliable display. (6/10)
Kurt Zouma: Missed an absolute sitter in the second half, but scoring goals isn't what he is in the team for. Preventing them is, and the young Frenchman made a brilliant last-ditch challenge on Kravets to deny a clear chance at the start of the second half. (7/10)
John Terry: Didn't have too much to deal with over the course of the 90 minutes, but this was certainly a more steady display than we have seen for much of the season. (7/10)
Baba Rahman: Up against the Kiev danger man in Yarmolenko and, like Azpilicueta a fortnight ago, coped with the winger well for the most part. Perhaps didn't offer as much as he could have going forward given that many of Chelsea's attacks came down the left, though. (7/10)
Midfield
Ramires: A bundle of energy in the middle of the park and had a few shooting opportunities too. An important cog in midfield without doing anything particularly noteworthy. (6/10)
Nemanja Matic: Still doesn't look at his commanding best in the centre of midfield. Recalled to the side tonight and should have done enough to keep his place, but it was by no means his best performance in a Chelsea shirt. (6/10)
Willian: Chelsea's standout player - both on the night and arguably in their season. His direct running and pace caused Kiev plenty of problems even before his stunning late winner with a free kick. It was his cross that led to the own goal and he deserved his standing ovation as he came off in stoppage time. (8/10)
Cesc Fabregas: May have silenced a few suggestions that he is unhappy with a hardworking performance that saw him cover plenty of ground, although his actual contributions on the ball were fairly limited. (6/10)
Oscar: Was a threat in the early stages as Chelsea got plenty of joy down the left, but his final ball was disappointing. He drifted out of the match before eventually being replaced after Kiev's equaliser. (6/10)
Attack
Diego Costa: Looks like a striker really struggling for confidence. Had numerous opportunities to attack the near post or six-yard box when Willian or Oscar beat their men, but usually just hung around the edge of the area instead. Was through on goal at one point as well but, instead of tucking away the chance as he might have done last season, he tried to buy a penalty by throwing himself to the ground. (5/10)
Substitutes
Eden Hazard: Introduced immediately after the equaliser and made a difference, sparking the team into life as they finished strongly and got the winning goal. It was Hazard who won the free kick that Willian dispatched. (7/10)
Pedro: On at the same time as Hazard, but his influence was much smaller during his time on the field. (6/10)
Gary Cahill: Given a matter of seconds at the end of the match as Willian received his ovation. (6/10)
DYNAMO KIEV
Goal
Oleksandr Shovkovskiy: Made good saves to deny Willian and Oscar in the second half, but had no chance with either goal. (6/10)
Defence
Domagoj Vida: Struggled a little on the right as Chelsea came forward down that flank on numerous occasions, which also prevented Vida from having much of an influence at the other end. (5/10)
Yevhen Khacheridi: Held firm at the heart of the defence, keeping Chelsea's chances to a minimum and marking Costa out of the game for long spells. (7/10)
Aleksandar Dragovic: An eventful match to say the least. His general play was impressive, like Khacheridi beside him, but his own goal was a real howler as he diverted Willian's cross past his own keeper. He did make up for that by scoring the equaliser, though, and there was nothing he could do to prevent the winner. (6/10)
Antunes: Up against an in-form Willian and, while he dealt with the Brazilian well all things considered, he simply had no answer when the winger turned on the afterburners. (5/10)
Midfield
Sergey Sydorchuk: The match simply passed him by in the first half, with Kiev unable to conjure up anything special in possession. Taken off at half time as a result. (5/10)
Sergiy Rybalka: Tidy enough in the middle of the park for the vast majority of the match, but did concede the free kick from which Willian scored the winner. (6/10)
Andriy Yarmolenko: Just as in the reverse fixture, there were flashes of his quality, but he was unable to fully showcase his skills due to some close attention. Grew into the game a little more in the second half. (6/10)
Vitaliy Buyalskyy: Another who didn't do much wrong over the course of the 90 minutes, but was also unable to really affect the game in a positive manner. (5/10)
Derlis Gonzalez: Sent Kravets through on goal with a fine pass early in the second half and had one of two glimpses himself, but was unable to make a significant impact in the end. (6/10)
Attack
Artem Kravets: He didn't have much to work with, but it was still a disappointing showing from the striker. His big chance came at the start of the second half, only for Zouma to get back and make a fine tackle. (5/10)
Substitutes
Denis Garmash: On for Sydorchuk at half time and certainly improved things in midfield for the visitors as they became more of an attacking force. (6/10)
Junior Moraes: Another who made an impact off the bench, stinging the palms of Begovic shortly after his introduction. (6/10)
