John Terry has described reports in the press that he has fallen out with Chelsea's interim manager Rafael Benitez as "lazy journalism".
Speculation had claimed that the pair had clashed over Benitez's recent reluctance to play captain Terry following his return from a knee injury.
However, Terry has insisted that there has been no such disagreement and that he welcomes competition for his place from the likes of Gary Cahill and David Luiz.
"It's good to be back playing. There are stories in the paper but it lazy journalism. It's complete rubbish. There is good competition in the side and we are all battling," he told ITV Sport.
Terry was speaking after he had scored one of Chelsea's goals in their 4-0 win over Brentford this afternoon.
