Goals from Oscar and Frank Lampard give dominant Chelsea a healthy half-time lead over Hull City in Jose Mourinho's first match back in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho's second spell in charge of Chelsea got off to a dominant start in the opening half against Premier League newcomers Hull City this afternoon.

The Blues were instantly on top and were awarded a penalty in the fifth minute when Allan McGregor clumsily took out Fernando Torres running away from goal.

The Scot atoned for his error by keeping out Frank Lampard's spot kick, ending a run of eight straight successful penalties in the league for the number eight.

Chelsea did soon take the lead, though. Debutant Kevin de Bruyne poked a pass through for Oscar, who timed his run past the defence and prodded under the onrushing McGregor.

Moments later it was almost two when Lampard curled for the far corner but was again denied by McGregor's firm right hand.

The England international did manage to score in the 25th minute when he dipped and swerved a 30-yard free kick that McGregor was fooled by. Replays showed that Fernando Torres went down easily under challenge from James Chester to win the set piece.

McGregor had to save from Lampard again in injury time after the midfielder had sprung the offside trap before the Scottish keeper somehow kept out Branislav Ivanovic with the last action of the half.

The Serbian met a corner powerfully but McGregor managed to parry the ball before swiping it off the line. Goal-line technology was used for the first time in English football and confirmed that the ball had not fully crossed the line.

Chelsea got off 18 shots in the opening period to Hull's two, both of which were blocked.
