:Headline: Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United: ID:385889: from db_amp
Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Chelsea will be looking to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they travel to Newcastle United in the Premier League on January 18.

The Blues have beaten Nottingham Forest and Burnley in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively in their last two matches.

Saturday's 3-0 success over the Clarets saw Frank Lampard's side consolidate fourth position in the table, with fifth-placed Manchester United five points behind on the same number of matches.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Steve Bruce's side at St James' Park.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Status: Out
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: Unknown

Ruben Loftus-Cheek ruptured his Achilles tendon while representing Chelsea in a post-season friendly ahead of the 2019 Europa League final. The England international has not yet made an appearance during the 2019-20 campaign and no return date has been set at this stage.

Christian Pulisic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: Unknown

Lampard recently confirmed that Christian Pulisic would be on the sidelines "for a few weeks" having picked up an adductor injury during a training session ahead of last weekend's FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest. It is currently unclear when exactly the United States international will be available to return.

Marcos Alonso

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 18 (vs. Newcastle)

Marcos Alonso, who continues to be linked with a move away from Chelsea, has been unavailable since December 22 due to a thigh problem. The defender has not yet officially been ruled out of the clash with Newcastle, though.

Marco van Ginkel

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Marco van Ginkel has not played for over a year due to a serious knee injury. The midfielder has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks, though, and is believed to be closing in on a potential return.

N'Golo Kante

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 18 (vs. Newcastle)

N'Golo Kante was not involved against Burnley on Saturday afternoon due to a hamstring problem. However, the France international is being tipped to return in time for the clash with the Magpies.
