Sports Mole looks at how holders Manchester City could line up for Sunday's EFL Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.

Manchester City have the opportunity to make a slice of club history on Sunday when they take on Chelsea in the EFL Cup final at Wembley.

City have never before successfully retained a trophy, but the holders are heavy favourites to do so this weekend against a team they hammered 6-0 just two weeks ago.

Pep Guardiola's side have won 13 of their last 14 games to remain in the hunt on all fronts this season, and they could scoop the first trophy in a potential quadruple with another triumph at Wembley.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how they could line up for the EFL Cup showpiece.

Out: Claudio Bravo (Achilles)
Doubtful: Benjamin Mendy (knee), Gabriel Jesus (hamstring), John Stones (groin)

City are once again likely to be without both John Stones and Gabriel Jesus, who missed the Champions League win over Schalke in midweek due to groin and hamstring injuries respectively.

Guardiola has confirmed that neither injury is too serious, but muscle problems are ones which clubs do not usually take any risks with and the pair will not be rushed back.

Nicolas Otamendi could start alongside Aymeric Laporte at centre-back, while Vincent Kompany is also an option again following his return against Schalke, with Laporte able to play left-back if required.

It is something Guardiola has used recently, although Oleksandr Zinchenko's performance in this fixture two weeks ago - when he registered two assists - may have been enough to earn the manager's trust on Sunday.

City are spoilt for choice further up the field, where the likes of Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez could all miss out on a starting role.

Bernardo Silva has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet, while Sergio Aguero will lead the line having registered his second hat-trick against Chelsea when the two side's met earlier this month.
