Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has confirmed that Roberto Firmino will miss Sunday's EFL Cup final with Chelsea, while Diogo Jota is still a doubt.
Neither attacker has featured since the San Siro Champions League win over Inter Milan on February 16, with Jota picking up an ankle injury and Firmino damaging a muscle.
Reports earlier this week had claimed that Jota was on track to be fit for Sunday's game, but Lijnders has admitted that it will be a "challenge" to get the 25-year-old ready in time for Wembley.
"Bobby we have to see in the next two days. Won't be available for the final. We hope he will be back soon," Lijnders told reporters at his pre-match press conference.
"Jota, so far no reaction to what he has done. That's a good sign. But it's still a doubt. He isn't ruled out but it will be a challenge."
Liverpool could win a record-breaking ninth EFL Cup title with victory over Chelsea, with the Reds - who last won the tournament in 2012 - currently sitting level with Manchester City on eight crowns. body check tags ::
