Victor Moses and Oriol Romeu scored their first Chelsea goals as Wolverhampton Wanderers were put to the sword in emphatic style at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup third round.
Gary Cahill, Ryan Bertrand, Juan Mata and Fernando Torres were also on the scoresheet for the European champions.
Cahill headed the hosts in front on four minutes, before Bertrand doubled the lead with a venomous 20-yard strike four minutes later.
Mata then made it three on 17 minutes with a low left-footed drive from 12 yards.
Early in the second half, Wolves goalkeeper Dorus De Vries fouled Moses in the penalty area and Romeu calmly converted the resultant spot kick.
Torres headed home to register his fourth goal of the season just before the hour mark and Moses then marked his full Chelsea debut by completing the scoring with a well-placed header 19 minutes from time.
The win is Chelsea's biggest competitive victory since January 2011, when they thrashed Ipswich Town 7-0.
