Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur beat Chelsea 5-3 in the Premier League on New Year's Day.
Diego Costa sent the visitors ahead after 18 minutes, but goals from Kane and Danny Rose, in addition to a Andros Townsend penalty gave Spurs a 3-1 lead at the break.
Kane scored his second after 52 minutes to leave the home side 4-1 ahead, but Eden Hazard gave Chelsea hope just past the hour.
Spurs had their fifth after 78 minutes, however, when Nacer Chadli found the bottom corner.
John Terry scored the game's eighth goal late on, but it was too little too late as the visitors lost their second league game of the season.
The result has dropped Chelsea off the top of the table, while Spurs have moved into fifth position.
Here, Sports Mole dissects the 90 minutes of action in north London.

Was the result fair?
Where to start? First of all, it must be said that these two sides served up a real treat at White Hart Lane. Due to Spurs' defensive frailties at times, even a 4-1 lead did not leave the home supporters comfortable. When reviewing the match as a whole, Spurs deserved to claim all three points, but it is difficult to actually analyse a game that had so many goals. Chelsea were a constant threat in the final third, but they were so poor defensively, which was perhaps the biggest surprise of the match. The visitors were also comfortable for long spells of the first period, but an incredible end to the half left Spurs with a 3-1 lead. Chelsea issued a strong response, but they were always up against it, especially when Spurs' fourth went in after just 52 minutes. It was some way to start 2015.
Spurs' performance
Spurs entered the match off the back of a strong run of results, but they were perhaps a shade fortunate to take something from their last match against Manchester United. After a strong start from the hosts, it was Chelsea that took control of the possession, which ultimately led to Costa opening the scoring. From that moment, the away side were expected to go on and dominate, but the response from Spurs was something that has not been seen in previous seasons. Defensively there are still some issues, but their task was helped by the fact that Kane and Chadli both had their best games in a Spurs shirt.
Kane, who scored twice before setting up Chadli late on, gave Terry and Gary Cahill the runaround, while Chadli was a constant menace in the final third of the field. Christian Eriksen has probably been Spurs' best player this season, but even the Dane had to play second fiddle to a couple of his teammates. Chelsea were poor at the back, but credit must be given to the home side for taking advantage. Special mentions must also be given to Nabil Bentaleb and Mousa Dembele, who won the battle in the middle of the park. As it stands, Spurs are now just two points off the top four with 18 games remaining.
Chelsea's performance
When Costa sent Chelsea ahead after 18 minutes, it did appear that there would only be one outcome. Hazard and Cesc Fabregas were both in full flight for the visitors, while a strong defensive unit looked solid in the early moments. Somehow and someway, however, that changed. From the moment Kane equalised after 30 minutes, Chelsea looked vulnerable in defence and conceded twice more at the end of the first period to enter the interval 3-1 down.
When that became 4-1 after 52 minutes, the match was over. Granted Chelsea scored twice more through Hazard and Terry, but the Blues had too much to do in the final stages and could not close the door down the other end. The likes of Terry, Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic have been so strong for Chelsea this season, but all three struggled, while Nemanja Matic was not his dominant self in the middle of the park. Hazard was the star of the show for the Blues, but even the Belgian's best efforts were not enough. It is back to the drawing board for Jose Mourinho, who looked visibly shocked during periods of the match.
Sports Mole's man of the match
Harry Kane: In truth, this is very close between Chadli and Kane, but the latter just takes it. The England Under-21 international's brace has taken him onto 17 goals for the season and his performance at White Hart Lane was arguably his best in a Spurs shirt. The forward's first effort was a stunning long-range strike, before he found the bottom corner once again in the second period after turning away from Terry. Kane also set up Chadli for Spurs' fifth in what was a near-perfect striker's performance.
Biggest gaffe
As touched upon, it was not really a match where either defence covered themselves in glory, but Spurs defender Federico Fazio had perhaps the worst moment in terms of an individual mistake. At 4-1, the centre-back decided to take a chance inside his own half, but lost possession to Hazard, who moments later had the ball in the back of the net. The tension inside White Hart Lane lasted until the latter stages despite the nature of the scoreline, which is a demonstration of Spurs' vulnerability at the back. Fazio is an experienced campaigner and should have simply sent the ball down-field or indeed into the stands.
Referee performance
On what was quite clearly a lively late afternoon, referee Phil Dowd had a decent match. The official was right to award Spurs a penalty late in the first period when Cahill brought Kane to the ground, while any flash-points were immediately dealt with. That said, Cahill was perhaps fortunate to escape punishment following an off-the-ball challenge on Kane. In total, Dowd issued four yellow cards and he was prepared to let the play flow whenever necessary. Mourinho was not happy with some of the officiating at White Hart Lane, but Dowd did little wrong in terms of actually influencing the outcome.
