AC Milan have reportedly decided to formally offer Antonio Conte the chance to become the club's new manager.
Conte was removed from his position as Chelsea head coach earlier this month, and the Italian remains in a legal dispute with the Blues regarding potential compensation.
However, according to The Mirror, it appears that the 48-year-old could be given the opportunity to secure an immediate return to the dugout at San Siro.
The report claims that Conte will be offered a deal worth £5.34m per year to replace Gennaro Gattuso, who has won 16 of his 34 matches in charge since his appointment in November.
New general manager Leonardo has previously suggested that there are no plans to part company with Gattuso ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
