Chelsea's Rafael Benitez "really pleased" to be returning to Anfield

Rafael Benitez insists that he has only fond memories of his time at Liverpool but is hoping that Chelsea snatch all three points on Sunday.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has admitted that he is "really pleased" to be returning to the home of his former club Liverpool this weekend.

The Spaniard, who was at the helm of Anfield for six years, will take his Blues side to Merseyside on Sunday following their 3-0 win over Fulham last night.

While Benitez has insisted that he has fond memories of his time at Liverpool, the 53-year-old is only concerned with grabbing all three points.

"Liverpool is where my family live now," the Belfast Telegraph quotes Benitez as saying. "I have been there for six years and have very good memories. I cannot hide that I am really pleased to be going there to see a lot of old friends.

"The main thing is to stay in the top three and what I want is to win at Liverpool. And after, I wish them all the best and if they can win all their games until the end of the season, that will be fantastic. But as a professional, I am sure they will try and win and we will try to win."

The Blues are now third, one point ahead of Arsenal, while Liverpool are seventh in the Premier League table.
