Gary Cahill believes that Raheem Sterling has the potential to develop into a "world-class player" for England.
The Liverpool winger put in a man-of-the-match display in the 1-0 friendly win over Norway to build on his promising showings at the World Cup earlier this summer.
Sterling's start to the season for both club and country has earned him much adulation, and Chelsea defender Cahill has become the latest teammate to hype the 19-year-old's international future.
"I thought he was very lively [against Norway]. A lot of our good attacking play went through him," Cahill told reporters.
"Has he got the potential to become a world-class player for England? Of course. He has shown in the early days of his career that he can be if he continues to progress."
Sterling has scored two goals in three Premier League appearances for Liverpool this campaign.
