Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has claimed that Jose Mourinho would rather lose a game by trying to win than settle for a draw.
Cech, who was signed by Mourinho in 2004 from Rennes, feels that such is the Portuguese's will to win that he would rather be valiantly defeated than accept a point in a game.
"He's a manager who'd rather lose than draw a game. Some would say, 'OK, if you can't win it, just don't lose it.' But with him that's not the case," Cech told The Guardian.
"He's all about winning, and winning the right way, winning 'right' doesn't necessarily mean in a 'great' way, as in a nice way to watch. Sometimes you have to win a game 'ugly'."
Mourinho took over for his second stint at Stamford Bridge last month.
