Chelsea have dismissed rumours that Avram Grant has been lined up to return to the club in a coaching capacity.
Reports over the weekend had claimed that the Israeli had been sounded out by the Chelsea board about helping out interim manager Rafael Benitez, who took charge of the club from Roberto Di Matteo last month.
However, the Blues have insisted that there is no truth in the speculation.
Grant's first spell at the club was in 2007 when he gained control from Jose Mourinho.
Despite leading Chelsea to the Champions League final, he was fired at the end of the season by owner Roman Abramovich.
Most recently the 57-year-old had been managing Partizan Belgrade.
