Chelsea are reportedly considering an approach for Zinedine Zidane as speculation surrounding the future of current head coach Maurizio Sarri continues to gather pace.
Sarri only took charge of Chelsea last summer following a successful period with Napoli.
The Blues made a strong start to the campaign, but their Premier League form has been inconsistent in recent weeks, which has seen them drop out of the Champions League positions.
Chelsea were thumped 6-0 at Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, and the odds on Sarri being sacked have been slashed following the disappointing result at the Etihad Stadium.
Assistant Gianfranco Zola has been strongly linked with the managerial position at Stamford Bridge amid suggestions that Sarri's future will be decided over the next two weeks.
According to The Sun, however, Chelsea are considering an approach for Zidane, who has been without a position since stepping down as head coach of Real Madrid after winning a third straight Champions League crown last May.
Zidane was also strongly linked with the Manchester United job in the latter stages of Jose Mourinho's time at Old Trafford.
