Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly stepped up their search for a new manager by making contact with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.
Spurs parted company with Jose Mourinho on Monday, less than 18 months after appointing the Portuguese as Mauricio Pochettino's successor.
The surprise announcement was made just six days before the North London side's EFL Cup final clash with Manchester City.
Tottenham have moved swiftly to place coach and former player Ryan Mason in charge on a caretaker basis until the end of the campaign.
According to Football Italia, Spurs hope to have a new manager in place by the summer, and Sarri appears to be their number one choice.
It is claimed that the Lilywhites have already reached out to Sarri's representative Fali Ramadani to enquire about his availability.
The 62-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Juventus last August, but he is still technically under contract with the Italian side until the end of 2021-22.
Sarri previously spent a season in the Premier League with Chelsea in 2018-19, winning the Europa League and reaching the EFL Cup final that season. body check tags ::
