Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has hailed N'Golo Kante as a "complete" midfielder following his positive start to life at the club.
Kante was a key member of Leicester City's title-winning team last term before completing a £30m switch to Stamford Bridge during the summer.
The France international opened his Chelsea account during the 4-0 rout of Manchester United in Chelsea's last league outing, and Conte believes that it is wrong to class him as solely a defensive midfielder.
"He's a complete midfielder, not only a defensive midfielder. You can see in the last three games of the championship, N'Golo could score three goals," he told reporters.
"He's a player that always arrives in the box. He has fantastic stamina, also good technique, good positioning, good personality. He's a very good player. He can play box to box, but I prefer to respect the position."
Chelsea will take on Southampton on Sunday looking for a fourth consecutive Premier League victory.
