Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was dropped for last night's clash against Everton because he has 'lost focus'.
The Belgian international has established himself as the Blues' number one since returning to Stamford Bridge last summer following a three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid.
Despite starting 21 Premier League games this season, Courtois was left out and replaced with Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
"I played Cech because Courtois played consecutive matches and he needs to be very focused," the London Evening Standard quotes Mourinho as saying.
"The focus must be permanent. Also a goalkeeper can be tired, not just physically, but in the nervous system, Petr was working very hard in training."
Willian clinched all three points for Chelsea against Everton by scoring in the 89th minute.
