Frank Lampard has said that he will quit football when he loses his ability to run from box to box.
The 33-year-old was tried out in a more defensive role when Chelsea beat local Hong Kong side Kitchee 4-0 to book their place in the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy.
"I have never been a defensive kind of player. I love getting up and down the pitch and arriving late into the penalty area,” he said.
"If I felt I wasn't getting there, I wouldn't want to hang around too long.
"I'll be the first to know when I'm no longer capable of doing that job. Mind you, I'll probably have been sold before then!"
Lampard hit the opener, while Yossi Benayoun, Didier Drogba and Daniel Sturridge were all on target in the victory. Chelsea will now take on Aston Villa in Saturday's final.
