Everton manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that his side were conned out of a point against Premier League leaders Chelsea in today's clash.

John Terry struck in the 93rd minute to consign the Merseyside outfit to a 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Speaking after the game, Martinez bemoaned referee Lee Probert's decision to penalise Phil Jagielka for a foul on Chelsea's Ramires for the winning set piece.

"[The free kick] is very soft," Martinez told the Liverpool Echo. "It's a free kick for a home team with an incredible know-how and understanding of how to get a dead-ball situation.

"It's an incredible know-how, using every single trick in the book to get an advantageous position. I don't blame the ref. It's impossible to get the right calls, he would need a magic ball.

"You can see why Chelsea are 70-odd games unbeaten at home. It must be about more than playing well every week. We defended really well, but John Terry gets the luck of the bounce and they scored from that."

Everton currently occupy sixth place in the Premier League, five points away from a Europa League spot.
