Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer will attempt to break a club scoring record in Sunday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

Despite experiencing a tumultuous campaign, Chelsea are on the verge of securing Europa League qualification for next season.

After beating Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek, the Blues will enter the final day in sixth place and three points clear of Newcastle United and Manchester United.

Mauricio Pochettino's side know that they need just a point from Sunday's home fixture to guarantee a top-six finish.

They could even climb up to fifth spot if they beat the Cherries and Tottenham Hotspur lose to basement side Sheffield United.

Palmer looking to surpass Lampard, Drogba

Palmer has been Chelsea's standout player this season, scoring 22 goals and providing 10 assists in 33 Premier League appearances.

Earlier this week, Palmer was named the Premier League's Young Player of the Season as a recognition for his fine performances this term.

The England international now has the chance to wrap up a memorable campaign by setting a new club record for the most home goals scored in a single Premier League season.

Having scored 16 league goals at Stamford Bridge this term, Palmer currently shares the record with Chelsea legends, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

Chelsea looking to extend winning run

Chelsea are currently enjoying a fine run of form after winning each of their last four matches against Tottenham, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Brighton.

As a result of those victories, the West London club now have the chance to record five consecutive league wins for the first time since March 2022 when Thomas Tuchel was in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

The Blues have also won each of their previous four Premier League home matches, keeping clean sheets in their most recent three home games.

Chelsea have proven to be a tough team to beat at Stamford Bridge, with their last 12 home league games producing nine wins, two draws and one defeat.
