Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes does not believe that Chelsea captain John Terry will issue an apology to Anton Ferdinand after he was found guilty of racially abusing the defender during a West London derby a year ago.

The former England international accepted a four-match ban and £220,000 fine issued by the Football Association and apologised for using the phrase "black cunt" during the match, but the centre-back has yet to personally say sorry to Ferdinand.

"I think John Terry feels that he hasn't done anything wrong and that has been his stance," said Hughes. "So for him to apologise would perhaps be an admission of guilt so I wouldn't have thought he would be prepared to do that."

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has refused to confirm whether Terry remains as captain of the club.
