AC Milan have reportedly submitted an improved offer for Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic.

After joining Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2019, Pulisic's four-year stay in West London appears to be drawing to a close.

With just 12 months remaining on Pulisic's contract, Chelsea are prepared to offload a player that has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Due to injury and selection decisions, Pulisic was restricted to eight Premier League starts during the 2022-23 campaign.

Milan are keen to bring the USA international to Italy, but they saw an initial £12m offer turned town by Mauricio Pochettino's side.

However, according to The Athletic, the Rossoneri have returned with an improved offer, which is understood to be worth a total of €22m (£18.9m).

Pulisic has already reached an agreement over personal terms with the Italian giants, leaving it up to the two clubs to agree a deal.

Ligue 1 side Lyon also made a €25m (£21.48m) bid for Pulisic earlier this week, a figure that is said to be close to Chelsea's asking price.

However, in a separate report, the Evening Standard claims that the player would prefer a move to Italy, while there are also concerns over Lyon's financial situation.

The DNCF, French's football financial watchdog, has announced that it will sanction the club due to irregularities in their budget for the 2023-24 season.

Pulisic looks set to be the latest player to leave Stamford Bridge as Chelsea continue to trim down their squad.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has already made the switch to AC Milan this summer, while Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and N'Golo Kante have all joined the Saudi Pro League.

Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz have signed for fellow Premier League sides Manchester City and Arsenal respectively.

England international Mason Mount has also left the West London club after completing a move to Manchester United on Wednesday. body check tags ::
