Agent Marco Sommella has suggested that Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has no intention of joining Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Reports have suggested that Blues owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to fund an offer for the 27-year-old, who has scored 43 goals for Lazio since joining the club last year.

However, Sommella has revealed that both he and Immobile laughed at the speculation linking the player with a move to Stamford Bridge after only recently penning new terms in Rome.

Sommella is quoted by TMW Radio as saying: "We had a good laugh together over that, including the Chelsea rumour.

"I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank [Lazio] for that renewal."

Immobile has already netted 13 goals for Lazio in Serie A this season.
