Marcos Alonso has agreed to leave Chelsea by mutual consent ahead of a move to Barcelona.
The Spaniard has been linked with a departure from Stamford Bridge after saying farewell to Chelsea staff a number of weeks ago.
However, Barcelona's struggles to register players has delayed the move as well as the 33-year-old being involved in discussions that have seen Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang move in the opposite direction.
Following the arrival of Aubameyang on a two-year deal, Chelsea announced that Alonso had left the club by mutual consent.
After enjoying a six-year spell with the Blues, the 31-year-old will be allowed to sign for Barcelona as a free agent despite the transfer window being closed.
Alonso scored 29 goals and provided 23 assists in 212 appearances for Chelsea, winning six trophies in his time with the club. body check tags ::
