Barcelona are reportedly preparing to step up their pursuit of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine will be on the lookout for a new club in a couple of months' time when his deal at the Etihad expires at the end of June, and despite his age and injury woes, he will not be short of suitors.
Barcelona have long been linked with a move for Aguero, although the 32-year-old supposedly wants to continue in England as he works his way up the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts.
Juventus have supposedly already touched base with Aguero's representatives, but according to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona will look to steal a march on their rivals in the race for the soon-to-be free agent.
The report claims that the cash-strapped Catalans cannot match Juve's offer of a €10m (£8.7m) yearly salary, but they hope that Aguero could be persuaded to agree to a lower wage so long as he gets to play alongside Lionel Messi, whose own future is still uncertain.
Aguero has only managed one goal in nine Premier League appearances during his farewell season so far, and Chelsea is thought to be the most realistic destination for the South American if he does elect to stay in England.
