Charlton Athletic are reportedly keen to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Leon Best.
It was claimed that the Republic of Ireland frontman was wanted by Premier League outfit Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day, but the two clubs could not agree a fee.
However, Football League clubs are now permitted to add players to their squad on a loan basis and it is believed that Charlton boss Chris Powell is eager to take advantage of the fact by recruiting Best, according to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
The report adds that Powell has identified Best as the ideal replacement for Yann Kermorgant, who joined Bournemouth last month.
Best has made just eight appearances for Rovers this season, scoring two goals.
