Chelsea have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Achraf Hakimi as Paris Saint-Germain are no longer in the running for the Inter Milan wing-back.
The 22-year-old was one of the key members of Inter's Scudetto winning squad in 2020-21, chipping in with seven goals and eight assists in 37 Serie A appearances.
Inter's financial issues mean that the Italian champions may have to cash in on Hakimi, however, and a number of teams have been tipped to make a move.
PSG had been considered the favourites to land the Morocco international, but FC Inter News claims that an impasse has been reached with Inter in talks for the versatile wide player.
It is suggested that the €70m (£60.25m) the Nerazzurri are asking for is too much for PSG, leaving European champions Chelsea as the new frontrunners.
Hakimi previously spent time with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund before joining Inter from the former for €40m last July. body check tags ::
