Chelsea are reportedly in contract negotiations with key midfielder N'Golo Kante.
The 30-year-old has been a vital player for the Blues since arriving from Leicester City in 2016, making 221 appearances for the club, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Kante's existing deal with the London giants is due to expire in June 2023, though, meaning that, as it stands, he would be free to discuss a pre-contract with a foreign club in January 2022.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are 'working on a new deal' for the France international, who is currently on the sidelines with an ankle complaint.
Kante has already been ruled out of Saturday's Premier League clash against Aston Villa but could return to the field against Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League next week.
Chelsea are also currently in talks with German defender Antonio Rudiger but are seemingly finding it difficult to come to an agreement over a fresh contract. body check tags ::
