Lyon have reportedly identified Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud as a potential January target.
Having only played a bit-part role for the Blues this season, the 33-year-old is attracting interest ahead of the midway point of the campaign.
According to Soccer Link, Lyon may contact Chelsea regarding a potential deal for Giroud, who has less than a year left on his contract.
The World Cup winner has been provided with just 212 minutes of competitive football since Frank Lampard's arrival at Stamford Bridge.
The report suggests that a move may only come to fruition if Lyon opt to cash in on Moussa Dembele as the 23-year-old allegedly continues to be courted by Manchester United.
While Giroud would only cost a small fee, the Ligue 1 outfit may look to recoup well in excess of £40m should they part ways with Dembele.
