Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew reveals that he will try to sign John Terry when the defender leaves Chelsea in the summer.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that he will try to convince John Terry to move to Selhurst Park in the summer.

The Chelsea captain revealed at the weekend that the West London outfit will not offer him a new contract.

Terry, whose current deal expires in the summer, has insisted that he will not join another Premier League club, sparking rumours that a switch to MLS in the United States or the Super League in China could be on the cards.

However, Pardew has admitted that he will try to change Terry's mind.

"I've bumped into John Terry on occasion and asked him many times to join me," the Daily Mail quotes Pardew as saying. "He always sniggers at the suggestion. Of course I will ask one more time. I'm sure I'll bump into him again and ask the question.

"He's got a winning mentality that anyone would want. I've seen his comments about leaving Chelsea and he's probably called it right.

"He'll have plenty of options, MLS, Gary Neville has gone to Spain, and there's China. He's got now until the summer to decide the right move for him and his family."

Since making his senior debut in 1998, Terry has helped Chelsea win 14 major trophies.
