Roma have reportedly opened talks with Chelsea over a proposed move for attacking midfielder Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge since joining from Basel a year ago, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian making it difficult for him to secure minutes on the pitch.
Reports earlier this week had suggested that Besiktas were eager to sign the 22-year-old on loan, but he could now be on course to make the permanent switch to Serie A.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma are hoping to bring Salah to the Italian capital on loan this month with an option to sign him for £11.5m in the summer.
Salah has made just three appearances in the Premier League this season.
