Ross Barkley has reportedly undergone a medical with Chelsea ahead of a £15m move from Everton.
Barkley, 24, came close to joining Chelsea in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, but the move broke down at the final moment.
The Premier League champions were understood to be prepared to pay £35m to land the England international in the summer, but the price is now £15m due to the fact that Barkley's existing deal at Everton will expire in June.
According to Sky Sports News, Barkley has now completed a series of medical examinations with the Blues, and an announcement regarding the transfer could be made on Friday afternoon.
Barkley missed the start of this season with a hamstring problem, but has not represented the Toffees in recent weeks despite returning to first-team training.
The midfielder, who has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, will leave Goodison Park having scored 27 goals in 179 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
