Diego Simeone has reportedly informed the Atletico Madrid hierarchy that he is prepared to continue in his role as head coach on the proviso that Diego Costa is re-signed.
In the wake of Saturday's Champions League final disappointment, Simeone revealed that he planned to consider his future at the Vicente Calderon.
However, the Daily Star claims that the 46-year-old will be convinced to carry on if his attacking options are bolstered this summer.
The report adds that Simeone's number one target is Chelsea frontman Costa, who scored 72 goals in 94 outings for Atleti prior to his £32m switch to London in 2014.
The 27-year-old is believed to be a key part of incoming Antonio Conte's plans at Stamford Bridge, but it remains to be seen if the lure of a return to the Spanish capital will prove too tempting to reject.
