Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a move for Barcelona's out-of-favour striker David Villa.
The 31-year-old, who has made just six league starts this term since returning from a long injury, is understood to have attracted the interest of a host of Premier League clubs.
According to El Confidencial, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas bas sounded out Villa's officials and is confident that he can strike a deal with Spain's all-time leading scorer.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with the striker, but the Reds have recently acquired Daniel Sturridge and the latter are close to securing a move for Newcastle United's Demba Ba.
Villa is understood to be keen to try his hand in England.
