Shanghai Shenhua official Ma Yue has claimed that Stoke City defender Matthew Upson is in talks with the Chinese outfit, while Chelsea striker Didier Drogba remains a top target for the side.
Shenhua, who signed Blues forward Nicolas Anelka last month, have been open about their interest in Drogba but have also reportedly switched their attention to Upson.
"There is nothing confirmed," Sky Sports News quotes Ma as saying. "We are still in the midst of discussions."
The 32-year-old defender has failed to cement a spot in Tony Pulis's starting lineup following his move from West Ham United last summer.
