Chelsea are reportedly planning to meet with the representatives of Trevor Chalobah to discuss a new contract for the central defender.
The 22-year-old has been with Chelsea since 2007 but only made his first-team debut for the capital giants against Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup on August 11 before scoring on his first Premier League outing at home to Crystal Palace last weekend.
Chalobah has spent each of the last three seasons out on loan with Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient, and it had been expected that he would again leave this summer for another spell elsewhere.
However, according to Goal, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has informed the defender that he is no longer available for loan.
The report claims that the London club are now preparing to meet with Chalobah's representatives to discuss a new deal, as the academy product's current contract is due to expire in June 2023.
The centre-back had allegedly been attracting interest from Lille, Valencia and Club Brugge before convincing Tuchel to keep him at Stamford Bridge for the 2021-22 season. body check tags ::
