Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta believes that his versatility helped him gain a spot in Spain's 23-man squad for the World Cup this summer.
The 24-year-old, who can play in either full-back position, impressed for his club side at left-back during the 2013-14 season.
However, he is expected to battle Atletico Madrid's Juanfran for the starting right-back berth in Brazil.
"I think that helped me get my name on the list. When you have a group of 23 players it helps if some of them can play in different positions because that means you can bring other players for other areas of the pitch where maybe more are needed," he told reporters at a press conference.
"That's what I've been working on and I'll be very happy to play wherever the coach needs me."
Spain open their World Cup Group B campaign against Netherlands on June 13.
