Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has revealed that he is "hungry" to be part of the England squad for next year's World Cup in Brazil.
The 27-year-old is yet to play for his country at a major tournament after missing out on Euro 2012 with a broken jaw.
However, the centre-back now hopes to be part of Roy Hodgson's plans for the upcoming tournament in South America.
"Playing at the World Cup is something that I am really hungry for," he told the Evening Standard. "I was devastated to miss the Euros due to my jaw, especially because I could have been a part of it. Not playing at a major tournament is something missing from my career."
Cahill has been named in the England squad for the team's upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany.
