Crewe Alexandra and Chesterfield have both failed to find the net during the opening half of this afternoon's League One clash at Gresty Road.
The away side carved out a glorious opportunity to take the lead with just three minutes on the clock, but Eoin Doyle failed to prod the ball in from close range following Jay O'Shea's pass.
Chesterfield continued to dominate, creating two chances in quick succession midway through the half as Jimmy Ryan saw his shot tipped around the post before O'Shea headed inches wide from the resulting corner.
The visitors were once again on the attack with 32 minutes played as Crewe struggled in key areas, only for Morgan's tame effort to be kept out.
Chesterfield cranked up the pressure during the final few minutes of the half as Ian Evatt has two headers saved, but they were unable to make their dominance count.
