Chesterfield have seen their winless run in League One extended to seven match with a goalless draw away to Crewe Alexandra.
The away side carved out a glorious opportunity to take the lead with just three minutes on the clock, but Eoin Doyle failed to prod the ball in from close range following Jay O'Shea's pass.
Chesterfield continued to dominate, creating two chances in quick succession midway through the half as Jimmy Ryan saw his shot tipped around the post before O'Shea headed inches wide from the resulting corner.
The visitors were once again on the attack with 32 minutes played as Crewe struggled in key areas, only for Morgan's tame effort to be kept out.
Chesterfield cranked up the pressure during the final few minutes of the half as Ian Evatt had two headers saved, but they were unable to make their dominance count.
Crewe brought George Cooper off the bench at the start of the second half and the youngster made an instant impact as his dangerous cross was headed off target by Bradden Inman.
The home side remained in the ascendancy for much of the second period, with Jon Guthrie and Gary Roberts both shooting off target.
Oliver Turton had a long-range effort tipped around the post late on as the game opened up, but neither side was able to break the deadlock.
