Chesterfield's busy transfer deadline day has continued with the loan capture of Caolan Lavery from nearby Sheffield Wednesday.
The 22-year-old makes the short journey down from South Yorkshire to Derbyshire in a deal until March 7.
The Spireites have already signed Mark Duffy and Ashley Carter on loan today, but are set to lose top-scorer Eoin Doyle to Cardiff City.
Speaking about Lavery's capture, Chesterfield boss Paul Cook told the club website: "He's a very exciting forward player who can play as a striker and we thank Sheffield Wednesday for their help with the deal.
"We're all a little disappointed at the prospect of losing Eoin Doyle but we feel that Caolan can come in and pick up exactly where Eoin left off and hit the ground running."
Lavery had a big impact for Wednesday in the second half of last season with four goals in 18 appearances, but he is yet to start a Championship game this season.
