Chesterfield have completed the deadline-day loan signings of Mark Duffy from Birmingham City and Ashley Carter from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Both players join the League One Spireites for a month from their respective Championship clubs.
Duffy, 29, has made just one league start for Birmingham this season since joining from Doncaster Rovers last summer.
"We are delighted to have signed a player of Mark's calibre," Chesterfield boss Paul Cook told the club website. "With his Championship experience, we think he will be a valuable addition to the squad."
Carter, meanwhile, is 10 years younger at 19 and has been playing in Wolves' reserve side this season.
The duo's arrival comes after Chesterfield agreed to sell the top scorer in England's top four divisions, Eoin Doyle, to Cardiff City.
