Chievo have temporarily moved out of the Serie A drop zone after a late winner gave them a 2-1 win over high-flying Sampdoria.
The match started slowly and it took 11 minutes for the first shot, which came in from David Di Michele but it was well blocked.
Two minutes later Maxi Lopez got Sampdoria's first shot on goal, but he skewed his effort wide before the lively Di Michele hit the target on 23 minutes. It was comfortable, however, for Romero.
It looked to be heading to half-time at 0-0, but Cyril Thereau was found by Luca Rigoni and he found the net on the stroke of the whistle.
In the second half Sampdoria pressed well and on 61 minutes they were level through Enzo Maresca.
Chievo responded well and Bojan Jokic missed the target on 76 minutes, before Di Michele latched on to a Boukary Drame assist to win the game on 87 minutes.
