Chievo and Siena have played out an uninspiring goalless draw in Verona in Serie A.

The visitors looked lively in the opening minutes of the match, with Emanuele Calaio heading the ball against Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.

Chievo ended the first half on a strong note, as Sergio Pellissier and Boukary Drame both came close for the Flying Donkeys.

Calaiò found himself in a great position to score just after the restart, but he failed to make his effort count.

Then in the 53rd minute Alberto Paloschi's header failed to trouble Siena goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo.

Soon after Calaiò once again disappointed when he found himself at the end of an Alessio Sestu cross.

Chievo were reduced to 10 men at the death after Mamadou Samassa was sent off for two bookable offences, but they held on for a point at home.
