AC Chievo Verona have given their survival hopes a boost by claiming a 2-1 win over Genoa in their Serie A match.
The home side were given the chance to take the lead in the fifth minute when Moussa Konate gave away a penalty for a tug on Adrian Stoian, and Alberto Paloschi stepped up to place the spot kick into the net.
Adrian Centurion came close to finding an equaliser for Genoa when his header forced Michael Agazzi into a save, and from the rebound Ioannis Fetfatzidis fired over the bar.
With a minute of the match left to play, Genoa equalised as Alberto Gilardino stooped low to head Stefano Sturaro's corner into the net.
The visitors looked like holding on to claim a point, before Marco Motta's foul on Dejan Lazarevic in stoppage time gave Chievo the chance to score their second penalty of the match.
Paloschi stepped up again and made no mistake in placing the ball into the bottom corner past Mattia Perin and win the game for his side.
