A late goal from Juan Pablo Angel has given Chivas USA a 2-1 win over Montreal Impact in the Eastern Conference.
Chivas were on the front foot from the first whistle and Montreal struggled to deal with the pace of the hosts' attacks.
Alejandro Moreno gave Chivas the lead after 14 minutes when the midfielder found space inside the area to smash Juan Agudelo's cross past a despairing Donovan Ricketts.
Montreal responded well to the early goal and could have been level but Nelson Rivas failed to hit the target with a header inside the six-yard box.
The Impact were level before half time though when Felipe Martins collected a pass from Davy Arnaud before firing past Dan Kennedy to make it 1-1.
Montreal improved after the break but failed to force any clear goalscoring opportunities against a stubborn Chivas defence.
As the game entered the final minutes, it was Chivas who were controlling the match and the hosts found a winner with eight minutes remaining when Juan Pablo Angel met Jorge Villafana's cross with an accurate header to secure the points.
