A late goal from Robbie Keane has put Los Angeles Galaxy level with Club America on Steven Gerrard's debut.
It took the Mexican side only seven minutes to find the breakthrough as Michael Arroyo slid a pass through for Darwin Quintero to chase, and he calmly slotted the ball through the legs of the keeper.
Club America almost doubled their lead shortly after as Arroyo picked out Erik Pimentel in the box, but he headed the ball marginally wide.
The Galaxy came close to equalising minutes later as Keane set up Sebastian Lletget, but he fired wide from a few yards out.
Gerrard then almost capped his debut with a goal when he waltzed through the Club America defence, but his shot was blocked by the keeper's feet.
Minutes before half time, Keane equalised as he controlled a long pass, cut inside a defender and goalkeeper and stroked the ball into the back of the net.
Gerrard will not play in the second half, as it was agreed that he would only play 45 minutes.
