Gary Neville has insisted that Colombia player Wilmar Barrios should have been sent off in the first half of their round-of-16 tie against England.
Barrios was shown to have headbutted Jordan Henderson as the Three Lions prepared to take a free kick, and almost avoided a yellow card before VAR advised the referee to book the Boca Juniors midfielder.
Jose Pekerman's side picked up five yellow cards in the opening hour of the game, and Neville has hit out at Barrios for his aggressive behaviour on the pitch.
"I've accused England many times of being naive. Jordan Henderson goes down and probably doesn't need to," he told ITV
.
"It's a red card. Stonewall.
"You can tell what type of game Colombia want. They want it to be stop-start. They want it to have no flow, it suits them."
The winner of the tie will face Sweden in the quarter-finals of the tournament on Saturday.
